Coke truck brings the UEFA EURO 2008™ into retail stores!

Vienna – March, 10th 2008 - The Coca-Cola UEFA EURO 2008™ truck tour will bring fun and good times to selected food retail stores

Only a few more weeks until the most important sports event of the year kicks off and Coca-Cola is doing its part to get its retail partners excited! A few days ago, the “Coke football truck” set out for a tour through all of Austria. The Coca-Cola team has thought up quite a few things to drive the football fever to the max – at every stop of the football truck there will be lots of fun and entertainment.

  • EURO 2008 atmosphere:
    Customers can get a feel of the upcoming EURO 2008 in the Coca-Cola UEFA EURO
    2008™ truck!
  • Twelfth man in the team:
    Everybody can join and have his or her picture taken as the “twelfth person” of the
    football team! Customers will immediately receive a print-out of the picture free of
    charge. 
  • Future stars:
    The Coca-Cola football arena is the perfect playing field for future football stars – and
    those that have yet to discover their passion for the game! 
  • Goal of the day:
    The fastest shot wins in the Coca-Cola football dome. The winner of the day receives a
    Coke football and has the chance to win two tickets for the UEFA EURO 2008™. These
    tickets will be raffled among all winners of the various days. 
  • Goal for winners:
    Everybody who buys a coke multipack on that day can win! Just draw a bottle from the
    goal for winners and receive your instant win. 
  •  Beamzone:
    Cool ringtones for cell phones can be downloaded in the Coca-Cola beamzone.

Shake-hands with a real football star!
Already the first stop of the Coke football truck tour caused much excitement as no one less
than star striker Stefan Maierhofer of the Austrian Rapid team paid us a surprise visit. The
Coca-Cola team was just as excited as the customers of the Eurospar store in Gänserndorf.
Erik Hofstädter, head of marketing at Coca-Cola HBC Austria, smiles, “This first day was surely
a special highlight for everybody who was there, but I can promise one thing to everybody
who visits us during the Coke football truck tour: there is no better way to get ready for the
European Football Championship!”
